Scenic Coach Tours was set up in 2016 by Matt Rafter after more than 20 years working as a driver and guide in the tourist industry. Matt and his team of like minded professionals, were tired of the same old tours, with the same hotels and locations being put together year after year by most of the larger tour companies.
We take the time to understand exactly what a group is looking for from their tour and craft one specifically to suit their needs. We work over several drafts to refine it so that everything is covered to our client’s satisfaction.
Scenic Coach Tours Ltd are Bord Fáilte trained and approved badged tour guides with many years experience as both drivers and guides.
What makes Scenic Coach Tours different?
We know instinctively what will work on a tour while providing our clients with the time they want to properly explore the beautiful scenery and history of Ireland. This country of ours, from which so many of our families emigrated over the centuries, has a rich and ancient history that requires time to explore and appreciate.
We understand, from working with so many of the descendents of these émigré families, that for them this is a life long dream coming to fruition. We have arranged tours for numerous groups from the USA, Canada and Australia. For many of these multi-generational Irish descendents, by the time they arrive in Ireland, they already have their research done and know so much about our history. Yet still they listen intently to us as we phrase everything in our own unique way and impart that extra local knowledge with our own soft Irish brogue.
In essence we listen to what group leaders want in their tour and then we tailor the tour itinerary to their needs. We don’t lead groups to include some things and not others because it suits us – our focus is entirely on our clients and providing the best coach tour for them.
